The Thick Plottens

short on money but long on time

I was going to write this last night but the power went so I couldn’t. Anyway.

Yesterday was just such a good day. It was a good day despite the fact (possibly because of?) that it was just completely normal. It was a routine day but every thing about the routine was right.

Let me try and explain without sounding like too much of a fool. Had morning class only from 10 to 11, so I chose to bunk it and get someone else to sign proxy for me. Hence I got up at 8, watched Friends, Who’s The Boss and Grey’s Anatomy while reading the paper. Then had a hot lunch at home, started getting ready and lazily left home about 1.

Got to college, had a very forgettable class on how to write a dissertation from 1.45 to about 2.15. Went to the library, worked for a bit, then went to Subway and random talked to G, H and A for quite a while as I ate my beloved chicken ham (parmesan oregano bread, toasted with cheese, only onions and black olives, and one line of every sauce EXCEPT mayo and mustard and that mint thing).

Got back to college at 5.30, ran to Submarine Bar with K and downed a couple of beers. Then ran to Shanti Theatre, watched Vaaranam Ayiram which was incredibly forgettable and poorly made but with an interesting plot. Laughed my way through most of it, and then went home.

So, it wasn’t an exceptional day but every single thing went well. Like, my kajal didn’t smudge even once, my pink-and-white Fabindia top was happy and successful, jeans didn’t feel crappy, Subway was playing good music like The Doors, hanging out with K was pretty fun, just going for a movie always feels good, my sub tasted just the way I like it, and I benevolently bought four cookies to distribute to G, H, and A.

When I got home, the power was gone and S and I didn’t have enough balance to call each other, but we texted for a bit till I fell asleep, and the drizzly breeze from the balcony made up for the lack of everything else. Woke up at 12.30 a.m. to find that it was a new day, the power was back and S was calling me.

Happy, warm feeling.

happy happy! :D hopefully ll book my dec tickets today, but have our environment assignment to do now. the weather is SO glorious today! i dunno how i am gonna get to afternoon class.

also jay, i ve decided i dont dislike movie as much as i did wen we walked out… i still dont like it, but i am able to appreciate some things a little more… anyway, crushingly disappointing all the same…

i don’t think i had very high expectations when i got in anyway. possibly we weren’t in the right frame of mind but it was watchable once!

aiyo, have to do assignments too. though all the weather makes me want to do is listen to music, read and SLEEP.

Funny how you know so many people who have single-letter names. I like my Subway on Wheat or Parmesan Oregano with cheese, toasted or untoasted, with all the vegetables except jalapenos, with mayo and thousand island sauce and salt and pepper and maybe oil and vinegar. After that I usually eat it. Otherwise it’s no good.

I don’t dislike Jalapenos, I just don’t like them in Subs.

Please take me to this Submarine Bar. I know not where it is.

gack. i wouldn’t take a bite of your sub if i were paid to.

i don’t think you’d want to be taken to submarine bar. it’s shady with the smell of fish (which was probably planned to add to the ambience) and a rat (or two or three) scurrying around.

Koze your sub has ONLY veggies!! Yuck.

I’m glad you had a happy day. I used to love not having drama in my life. Sadly, that phase doesn’t last long enough! :D

SG.

very true, but it’s fun while it lasts :)

somehow reminds me of the laidback ug days..!;);).. n where s this submarine bar..

it’s in a shady hotel right next door to my college. i wouldn’t recommend it if you weren’t desperate and in the vicinity.
